Ask in plain language — “turn these notes into a post and email it to paying members” — and Claude does it, showing you exactly what will happen before anything is published or sent. It works with any Ghost 5 or 6 site, on Ghost(Pro), self-hosted or managed by us, in Claude on the web, desktop, mobile and Claude Code. ## What Claude can do on your site - **Write and publish**: draft, edit, duplicate, schedule, publish or unpublish posts and pages; add images from a link; manage tags and SEO fields. - **Send newsletters**: publish a post and email it to all, free or paid members, or to a label. Claude tells you the exact number of recipients first. Change a newsletter's settings (name, sender, description). - **Manage members**: search, add, update or delete members, create and delete labels, import from a link to a CSV file, and see member counts and new sign-ups at a glance. - **Monetise**: review and edit tiers (name, description, prices), create, edit and archive offers. Every change shows what it was before and what it will become. - **Run the site**: switch, upload or delete themes; create and delete webhooks (with an integration key). - **With a Staff access token**: change site settings, moderate comments, read member, revenue, post and newsletter statistics. ## Set it up in 3 steps ### 1\. Create a key for Claude in Ghost 1. Open your site admin: add `/ghost` to your site address. 2. Go to **Settings** (gear icon, bottom left) → **Integrations**. 3. Click **Add custom integration**, name it “Claude”, then **Create**. 4. Copy the **Admin API key** (not the Content API key). Want Claude to handle settings, comments and statistics too? Use your **Staff access token** instead (your profile in the admin → Staff access token). It acts with your own permissions. ### 2\. Add the connector in Claude 1. In Claude, open **Settings → Connectors** and click **Add custom connector**. 2. Name: **Abstract27** · URL: `https://mcp.abstract27.com/mcp` On Claude Team or Enterprise, an organisation owner adds the connector once; everyone then connects their own site. In Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http abstract27 https://mcp.abstract27.com/mcp`. ### 3\. Connect your site Click **Connect**. You are back in Claude, connected. ![Confirmation screen: what Claude will be able to do](https://abstract27.com/content/images/2026/11/abstract27-for-ghost-confirm-en-2.png) Confirmation screen: what Claude will be able to do ## Things to ask Claude - “Summarise my last 5 posts and suggest a meta description for those that have none.” - “Turn these notes into a draft tagged News, then tell me how many paying members would get it by email.” - “Schedule the spring newsletter for Monday 8am and send it to free members only.” - “Find members labelled volunteer and add the label 2027.” - “Create a 20% annual discount called Black Friday on our paid tier.” - “How many members did we gain this month, and which posts brought them?” (Staff access token) ## Nothing irreversible without your approval Publishing, emailing, deleting, editing members, offers or settings: each of these first returns a **preview** — the post title, its current status, the exact number of email recipients — and only runs after you say yes in the conversation. This safeguard is built into the connector itself, so it holds even if you told Claude to always allow its tools. Secrets and payment settings can never be read or changed. Your key is encrypted, sign-in tokens are stored hashed, and your content and members' data pass through without being stored. To revoke access, delete the “Claude” integration in Ghost: it stops immediately. Abstract27 for Ghost® is free for any Ghost® site, whoever hosts it. We built it for our own clients first, then opened it to everyone. ### Does it work with Ghost(Pro) and self-hosted sites? Yes: it talks to the standard Ghost® Admin API, so it works with any Ghost 5 or 6 site reachable over https, wherever it is hosted. ### Can Claude publish or email my subscribers without asking? No. Every irreversible action — publishing, sending a newsletter, deleting, changing members, offers or settings — first returns a preview (for a newsletter, the exact number of recipients) and only runs after you approve it in the conversation. ### What is the difference between an Admin API key and a Staff access token? An integration key (Settings → Integrations) covers content, members, newsletters, offers and themes. A Staff access token (your profile) acts with your own permissions and also unlocks site settings, comment moderation and statistics. ### What do you store? Your site address, your key encrypted with AES-256-GCM, hashed sign-in tokens and a log of which tool ran (never the content), kept 90 days. One connection covers one Ghost® site: add the connector again to work on another one. Images and CSV imports come from a link, not a file on your computer. Ghost’s social web (ActivityPub) and web traffic analytics are not supported. Site settings, comments and statistics need a Staff access token, and webhooks need an integration key. Payment settings and secret keys can never be read or changed. ### How do I disconnect? Delete the “Claude” integration in Settings → Integrations: access stops immediately.
