Online shop websites for small businesses and wine merchants
Selling online with the right tool: simple sales and subscriptions on your website, or Shopify for a full catalogue. For shops, wine merchants and makers.
On this page
Selling online starts with the right tool. For a few products, subscriptions or digital products, your Abstract27 website takes card payments directly, for £25 a month. For a full catalogue (stock, variants, shipping), we point you to Shopify, which we set up and run for you, as we did for wine merchant Tell Me Wine. Either way, you stay in control of your shop.

What a small online shop website needs
- Product pages that sell: photos, description, price and a clear buy button.
- Card payments through Stripe, with no card data stored on the website.
- Subscriptions (monthly boxes, clubs, content) with automatic renewal.
- Digital products (books, guides, music) delivered automatically after purchase.
- Terms, delivery and cancellation rights shown clearly before purchase.
- A newsletter to announce new products and bring customers back.
What your customers will see

Your website or Shopify: the right tool for your catalogue
- A few products, subscriptions, digital goods: everything sells directly on your website, like APAR.TV's books and yearly subscription or Club Petit Pierrot's shop.
- A full catalogue (dozens of products, stock, variants, couriers): Shopify is built for it. We set it up, link it to your website and keep it moving; that is what we did for Tell Me Wine. Bespoke quote on the call.
What the law expects from an online shop
- Clear terms and the 14-day cancellation right that consumers have under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
- Wine merchants: selling alcohol to under-18s is an offence, so we add age verification and keep the copy responsible.
New website, redesign or migration: we handle it
No website yet? We build it. A site on Wix, WordPress, Squarespace or a directory platform? We rebuild it and move your content, redirecting every old address so you keep your Google rankings. Then we stay on: updates, backups and changes on request. The shop owner focuses on the work; we run the website.
Built on Ghost, open-source software you own
Every site we build runs on Ghost®, the open-source publishing platform. The editor is as simple as writing an email, the newsletter is built in, pages load fast, and your content and subscriber list can be exported at any time — nothing is locked in. Ghost is the only platform we build on.
What we have built
- Tell Me Wine — a wine merchant's online shop relaunched on Shopify: better sales, and a client in full control of the site.
- APAR.TV — a media outlet made profitable on Ghost, selling personalised books and a yearly subscription directly on its website.
- Club Petit Pierrot — a shop of learning resources built into the website, with no card data stored.
Price
A managed website costs £25 a month in one language or £40 a month bilingual: design and build, hosting, security updates, daily backups, newsletter and content changes on request. No setup fee, first version as fast as you need it (the same day if urgent, otherwise within a week), cancel any time. See plans and pricing. The managed website is £25 a month; setting up a Shopify shop is quoted separately.
How it works
- Free call. You tell us about your organisation and what the site must do; we tell you exactly what we would build.
- A first version as fast as you need it. We adapt to you: the same day if it is urgent, otherwise within a week. We set up your pages, newsletter and forms. If you prefer, we build it first on a beta site of ours: you check that everything works, and only when it suits you do we move it to your official domain, safely.
- We run it for you. Hosting, updates, backups and changes on request are included. You publish when you want, we handle the rest. We adapt to what you need — our client reviews say so.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an online shop website cost?
For simple sales, subscriptions or digital products: £25 a month in one language (£40 bilingual), with no setup fee. For a full catalogue on Shopify: a bespoke quote on the call.
Do I need Shopify to sell online?
Not always. For a few products, subscriptions or digital goods, your website is enough. Beyond a few dozen products with stock and shipping, Shopify is a better fit, and we set it up.
How are payments taken?
By card through Stripe: the money goes to your account, and no card data is stored on the website.
Can I sell subscriptions or boxes?
Yes: monthly or yearly subscriptions with automatic renewal, like APAR.TV's yearly subscription.
What must an online shop show?
Your business details, terms, delivery information and the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. We set the pages up and you approve them.
I sell wine: what do I need?
Age verification on the website, since selling alcohol to under-18s is an offence, and responsible copy.
My shop is on Wix or WooCommerce: can you move it?
Yes. We move your products and content and redirect every old address so you keep your Google rankings.
How fast can my shop be live?
As fast as you need: the same day for simple sales if it is urgent, otherwise within a week. If you prefer, the first version lives on a beta site first: you check everything, then we move it to your official domain, safely.

What our clients say about working with Abstract27: websites designed, built and run for them.
Jérémy is a professional who listens, is responsive, and always offers sound advice. He brought my design to life, respecting my wishes down to the smallest detail, while finding simple and effective solutions so I can easily manage my website. Always available and incredibly patient, he truly takes the time to help and find solutions. It's a real pleasure to work with him, and I recommend him without hesitation!

Working with Abstract was one of the best professional decisions I made to boost my online presence and digital prospecting efforts. I initially built my website on Webflow, but I quickly realized that I wouldn't be able to easily manage updates because the system is complex… whereas with Abstract, it's very intuitive… a breeze. Jérémie did an exceptional job giving the site the look and feel I envisioned. He also gave me invaluable advice on streamlining and optimizing the customer experience. I'm thrilled: I'm autonomous, efficient, and well-structured.

I contacted Jérémie and Abstrat27 to create the website for my financial education platform. I had a specific set of requirements: to translate the brand strategy and graphic charter developed beforehand, to secure the content, especially the paid courses, while retaining full ownership of my content, and above all, to have a user-friendly website that I could easily update as I produced new content (I'm completely unfamiliar with computers). They succeeded! The website accurately reflects my vision, and I have complete autonomy to update it as my content evolves. I'm truly delighted with the result, and a huge thank you to Jérémie, who guided me and kept me focused on all my requirements. I highly recommend them!

We used Abstrat27 to set up our website using Ghost and couldn't be happier. Jérémie really listened to what we needed, understood our vision and came up with great advice. From start to full migration, everything was handled efficiently. We love how easy it is to manage the website by ourselves now, which was exactly what we wanted. On top of that, Jérémie is incredibly available and explains everything clearly. Very professional, reliable and genuinely helpful! Highly recommend!

I’d been using WordPress for years, but wanted something lighter and more modern. Jeremie handled the entire migration to Ghost, and honestly, he did an outstanding job. Everything went smoothly from start to finish — he was professional, responsive, and really listened to what I needed. I’m genuinely happy with the result. Ghost is a fantastic platform — clean, fast, and enjoyable to use — and Jeremie’s work made all the difference. I’d absolutely recommend him!

I would like to commend Jérémie Raude-Leroy for his remarkable commitment and expertise in managing our cultural and predictive platform, APAR.TV. His responsiveness and unparalleled guidance enabled a lightning-fast transition from our WordPress infrastructure to Ghost. Jérémie brilliantly orchestrated the migration of thousands of author accounts while simultaneously resetting all of our email accounts. Thanks to his expertise and professionalism, Jérémie not only met our expectations but exceeded them, delivering exemplary service. For all these reasons, we extend our sincerest thanks and affirm that he deserves our complete and unwavering trust.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars, because the website Abstract27 made for me definitely is something else. I didn't know Ghost CMS at first and I was a bit skeptical. But I decided to take the leap of faith and oh boy was I positively surprised. Everything was done for me and the team even helped me customize the website. I've created dozens of WordPress website in the past but none matched Ghost CMS in terms of performance, ease of use and design. Thank you!!

I had been hosting my website on blogger and had been wanting to migrate to a fast, modern and mobile friendly platform for a while. Jérémie managed to convince me to make the move and I’m very happy he did. The result is stunning, SEO friendly and easy to maintain. And on top of that the ongoing hosting fees are very reasonable (actually cheaper than on Ghost Pro).
